Pick and upload a good avatar image
What Nilaki actually uses as the face lock: a real photo, not a Gemini still, and how to generate or clone an avatar.

Every talking-head job sends the original avatar photo to Kling. Scene stills are not the identity lock.
Steps
- Open Avatars.
- Clone from a photo you own, or generate a new face and download a still you would actually post.
- Prefer JPEG or PNG, face filling most of the frame, eyes visible, no heavy filter.
- Name it. Link a voice if you already cloned one.
- In Studio, pick that avatar before you generate.
What to avoid
- Screenshots of someone else’s creator.
- Tiny or blurry faces. Kling will invent details.
- Swapping the still after you like a video — edits should keep the same avatar so the person stays the same.
FAQ
Does creating an avatar cost credits?
Yes. Image generation uses the avatar image credit rate. A failed save refunds.
Which photo should I upload?
A sharp, front-facing face with even light. Avoid sunglasses, heavy crop, or group shots.
